TWICE Commerce vs Booqable: a job-by-job comparison

This comparison helps you pick between Booqable and TWICE Commerce by scoring both on the same 168 user jobs. It shows where they match, where each is ahead and what one rental location costs on each.

TWICE and Booqable wordmarks side by side, split by the TWICE double slash

Booqable is a vertical tool built for rentals. TWICE Commerce is an operating system you configure, and it runs rentals, resale and subscriptions on one platform. On the rental itself the two are level. This TWICE Commerce vs Booqable comparison scores both on 168 jobs and prices a one-location rental business on each.

Choose Booqable if, choose TWICE if

Choose Booqable if:

  • You want to take bookings this week, without help.
  • You want easy-to-use rental software and run no business model other than rentals.
  • Your staff work from phones or from a van.
  • You value built-in integrations over building your own.
  • Entry price decides.

Choose TWICE if:

  • You want full control over the data and format of your inventory, orders, and customer data.
  • You want to know what each individual unit has earned and cost.
  • You run several locations and fulfill or take returns across them.
  • You run several sales models in parallel: rentals, subscriptions and sales.
  • Your operation needs stronger tooling for internal jobs such as maintenance, repairs and cleaning turnaround.
  • You want to build on the platform, on every plan.

Put plainly: if you want a tool that works for your rental business right away, choose Booqable. If you want a platform you can configure the way you want, build on top of, and work with your data in, choose TWICE.

‍

How this comparison was made

The comparison scores user jobs instead of feature names. A feature list says a product has reporting. A job asks whether you can answer one question: has this item paid for itself yet? To make this comparison, we developed an evaluation tree with 203 user jobs across 15 categories (see the appendix). We scored both products against fixed-depth anchors explained below.

Booqable was scored on 168 jobs from a full read of its 202 help center articles, its feature list, and its pricing and comparison pages. TWICE Commerce was scored on 200 jobs based on its documentation and the product, then reviewed line by line by the TWICE team. The 168 jobs scored for both are for comparison. The dates behind each source are in the Verification section.

The scoring system uses five classes:

  • Full support. Native, integrated, works without extra configuration or third-party tools.
  • Basic support. Core function covered, with limits: no automation, limited customization, or one use case only.
  • Limited support. Exists but partial, constrained to specific contexts, or needs manual workarounds.
  • Via API. Achievable through APIs, webhooks or third-party tools with developer support.
  • Not supported. Not offered, no clear workaround.

We make TWICE. Every claim below carries a date and names the mechanism behind it, and the section where Booqable is ahead comes first. Both vendors ship weekly, so treat this as a dated snapshot and check anything that decides your purchase.

TWICE Commerce vs Booqable at a glance

Of the 168 shared jobs, 68 are level, 50 go to Booqable, and 50 go to TWICE. The six tasks listed below are included in all rental software vendor comparisons.

JobBooqableTWICEThe difference
Inventory tracking by individual itemFull supportFull supportBoth track serialized and bulk stock with barcodes and live availability. TWICE offers more advanced tools for modeling your inventory data.
Maintenance and repairsBasic supportFull supportBoth block an item during maintenance and show its rental history; on Booqable, downtime scheduling starts at the Grow plan. In addition, TWICE lets you log service and repair events, keep a digital maintenance log, and track the expenses attached to a product over its lifecycle.
Selling in multiple channelsFull supportFull supportBoth keep one availability across every sales channel, preventing double bookings.
Order fulfillment and returnsFull supportFull supportBoth handle basic order fulfillment and returns well. Booqable has formal quotes and e-signatures. TWICE lets you customize the order-processing steps to match how your operation works.
ReportingFull supportFull supportBoth report revenue, utilization and revenue per item, and both export to CSV. Booqable adds scheduled reports and a ready-made GA4 app. TWICE adds an income and expense ledger on the individual unit, with system-generated depreciation.
Integrations and customizationFull supportBasic supportBooqable has an app store and more native integrations. TWICE has chosen another path: more built-in automation and configurability, and the full Admin API on every plan, so you can build your own integrations.

TWICE and Booqable: where the two overlap

Put the two side by side and the finding is how little separates them in the day-to-day work of a rental business. Both were built by people who understand the trade, and both have had years to close the obvious gaps. Take the jobs that fill an owner's week: keeping track of stock, building an offering, accepting payments, protecting the business and selling across channels. Each platform handles them.

Inventory management

Both treat stock as the thing the business rents, which is the distinction that separates rental software from ecommerce software with a booking plugin.

  • Inventory tracked two ways at once, as individually identified units and as interchangeable pools
  • Stock assigned across several locations
  • Barcode and QR scanning, in and out
  • One source of availability behind every sales channel, so nothing is double-booked
  • Buffer time either side of a booking
  • Deliberate overbooking where you know you can cover it

Building your offering

Both let you sell more than a flat list of items, so the catalog carries the packages, upsells and pricing rules a rental business runs on.

  • Kits and bundles
  • Add-ons and recommended products
  • Variants
  • Seasonal and tiered pricing

Payments and billing

Both cover the full range of how payments arrive, which is rarely one clean card payment at one clean moment.

  • Online payments
  • Manual payment methods
  • Coupons

Risk management

Both give you the two instruments that matter most when goods leave the building, and both make them part of the standard flow.

  • Deposits
  • Rental contracts and waivers
  • A damage waiver sold as an add-on product

Storefronts

Both enable selling in multiple channels, and both give you control over your website: branding and design, channel-specific restrictions, and SEO.

  • A customizable website builder with search settings: page titles, meta descriptions and URLs
  • Orders created by hand for walk-ins, phone and email reservations

Localization

Both are built for international markets, and both handle tax, language, currency and price formatting by region.

  • Tax levels by region
  • The admin in your language
  • Online store localization
  • Regional price formatting

If you expect one of them to fall down on the basics, that is the wrong place to look. The choice is made further out.

Where Booqable is ahead

Booqable is ahead in three places. Your staff work away from a desk. A signature has to be collected as part of the booking. You want a connection to another tool switched on without a developer.

JobBooqableTWICE
A dedicated mobile app for staffFull support. Native iOS and Android point of sale: order creation, check-out and check-in, contactless Tap to Pay, signature capture. Not supported. The admin is a web app that fits phones and tablets.
Digital signature captureFull support. In store, at delivery, by online signature link, and in the app.Limited support. Attach an already-signed file to a customer record; TWICE does not capture the signature.
A formal quoteFull support. A quote object with a validity period, online acceptance and one-click conversion to an order.Basic support. A draft order plus a document template, emailed and accepted by reply.
Ready-made integrationsFull support. An app store with Xero, Mailchimp, GA4, Meta Pixel, Google Ads, Weglot, Zapier and more. Xero and Zapier start at the Grow plan.Basic support. Stripe, Adyen, point-of-sale systems and payment terminals (SumUp, Solteq Tekso, Commerce Cloud POS), and smart access systems set up case by case. No built-in accounting, email or analytics integrations yet.
Accounting syncFull support. Native Xero sync for invoices, customers and credit notes, from the Grow plan.Limited support. Export the figures as a report, or move them with the API.
Integrating with an existing websiteFull support. Product, calendar and cart embeds, with install guides for WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace and others. The cart and checkout stay Booqable's.Basic support. Link to a TWICE-hosted storefront on your own domain, or build a custom front end on the API.
Forecasting shortagesFull support. A shortage report by product and date.Basic support. Conflicts are flagged and commitments are visible, so you can resolve them early.
Conversion tracking on the storefrontFull support. GA4 and Meta Pixel apps.Basic support. Install a pixel through head scripts.
Route planning and driver assignmentBasic support. Delivery orders go to OptimoRoute, Shipday or Spoke Dispatch, where routes are planned and drivers assigned, and driver status comes back to the order. The apps are in beta and need the Deliveries add-on and the Grow plan. Not supported.

Three of these decide more purchases than the rest.

Booqable's mobile app is a point of sale your staff carry. They create an order, scan a unit out, capture a signature, take a card payment with Tap to Pay, and check the unit back in, all from a phone. It is a paid add-on at $9 per user per month on yearly billing, as published on Booqable's pricing page. TWICE has no equivalent. Its admin is a web app that fits a phone or a tablet, which is not the same as a point of sale in a pocket.

Signature capture is the one to check against your own paperwork. TWICE generates the documents from customizable templates, so you can produce rental contracts and waivers with the information already filled in. Once you have a signed copy, you can store it against the customer. The step it does not cover is getting the signature. Booqable includes digital signatures in the booking flow.

Integrations deserve a precise answer. TWICE is API-first: the documented Admin API is on every plan, with 198 operations published on 2026-09-07 and still marked alpha. Real connections exist on it, for payment terminals, point-of-sale systems and smart access systems, and the TWICE team sets those up with each customer. What TWICE has not built is the self-service version. You cannot browse a catalog of apps and switch one on yourself. Booqable has that.

Booqable also has more reviews. It carries 1,195 at 4.8 across the Gartner review network, which shares one pool between Capterra, Software Advice and GetApp (Booqable on Capterra). TWICE has 155 at 4.6 (TWICE on Capterra). Both were checked on 2026-10-26.

Where TWICE is ahead

TWICE is ahead where the business gets particular. It is the data you keep on your inventory and your customers, what the platform then does with that data on its own, and the second-hand and subscription models you run alongside rentals.

JobTWICEBooqable
Custom data on any recordFull support. Typed attributes on inventory, catalog, orders and customers, inherited down, filterable and sortable. Formula attributes calculate a value from other attributes; smart attributes fetch one from another system.Basic support. Flat custom fields on products, orders and customers.
Condition gradingFull support. You define the grades your business uses, and customers filter by them in your store. Not supported.
Automation built into the platformFull support. Workflows that fire on an event, with filters and delays, then send an email or call another system.Via API. Through webhooks, or a Zapier subscription.
Opening hours, blackout dates and seasonsFull support. Three tiers of hours per location (a weekly schedule, seasonal overrides, exception dates), with separate pickup and return schedules.Basic support. An availability calendar plus an away mode for blackout periods.
Selling a unit off the fleetFull support. A purchase type on the same stock item.Limited support. Sale items are a separate product type, created separately.
Recurring billing on long-term hireFull support. Not supported.

Most of this comes back to one thing: what TWICE lets you record, and what you can then do with it. Most rental products give you a text box called custom field. In TWICE you define the data itself. Typed attributes sit on a SKU (stock keeping unit), on one individual unit, on an order or on a customer, and they are inherited down and available to filter, sort and write rules against. Two attribute types go further. A formula attribute works out a value from other attributes, so a deduction or a margin is calculated your way. A smart attribute fetches a value from another system over an API call.

Condition grading is one use of attributes. You define the grades your business uses, set rules that read the grade, and let customers filter by it in your store. Booqable has no equivalent.

What each unit has earned and cost is another. Both products can tell you whether an item has paid for itself, but they answer at different levels. Booqable's Return on Investment report compares rental revenue with purchase cost for the listing as a whole. TWICE keeps the numbers on each individual unit. What this item, serial 123-321, has earned since 2023, what it has cost in repairs, and what it is worth on the books now, with depreciation as a system-generated cost. That record sits underneath per-unit inventory tracking.

If your fleet is uniform and interchangeable, the figure for the listing is enough. If your units diverge, with different purchase dates, repair histories and hours on them, it is not. Operators running camera rental, where two bodies bought a year apart are different assets, tend to feel this first.

Once the data is there, TWICE can act on it. A workflow has three parts: an event that starts it, a condition it checks, and an action it takes.

Two examples. An order is returned, and a review request goes to the customer a day later. A unit reaches its tenth rental, comes out of availability, and a service task is raised for whoever handles it. The action can be an email to a customer or a call to another system, so workflows cover internal jobs as well as customer messages.

Both products publish a documented API. TWICE's is on every plan, with a monthly allowance of API calls per location. Booqable's starts at the Grow plan. If you intend to build on the platform, with your own front end, your own integration or your own reporting, that difference decides where you start.

The same data runs through the rest of the platform. It is what your storefront and your counter both read, and what order management and returns writes back to when a unit comes in damaged.

Selling off retired fleet

Every rental business eventually retires units. The tires are done, the model is two generations old, or the season is over and you would rather have the cash than the shelf space.

In TWICE, the unit you sell is the same record you have been renting. Sale is a purchase type on the stock item, so its rental history, its repair costs and its numbers stay attached, and the sale closes them out. In Booqable, sale items are a separate product type you create separately. You can sell things, but the thing you sell is a new record.

If retiring fleet is an occasional errand, this is a small convenience. If it is a regular part of running the fleet, it removes a recurring piece of double entry.

What neither product does

One of the 168 scored jobs comes out as not supported on both sides, and it is worth knowing before you spend a week on either trial: dynamic pricing driven by demand or utilization.

Three more are thin on both sides rather than absent: selling through a marketplace or partner site, trade-in with a quoted value, and impact messaging to customers. Route planning sits close by. Booqable hands it to partner apps in beta, and TWICE has none. If one of these is a requirement, check it in a demo before you commit to either product.

Pricing side by side

Both products publish their prices, on the Booqable pricing page and the TWICE pricing page. Each is shown in its own currency, read on 2026-10-26.

Booqable planYearly billingMonthly billingIncludes
Start$29 a month$35 a monthOrders and inventory, quotes, contracts and invoices, real-time availability, bundles, website integration and a ready-made booking page
Grow$69 a month$87 a monthAdds five extra users and permissions, e-signatures, downtime scheduling, advanced revenue reports, API access, Zapier and Xero, onboarding sessions
Scale$149 a month$187 a monthAdds ten extra users, activity logs, overbooking, enforced 2FA, extra locations at $29 each ($37 monthly)

Add-ons, priced on yearly billing: website builder $19 a month and mobile point of sale $9 per user on any plan, barcode scanning $9 per user from Grow, and Deliveries $9 a month. All plans include unlimited inventory and orders, and Booqable charges no setup fee and no commission on bookings.

TWICE componentPriceWhat it sets
Location199€ a month per location; the first two at 99€ eachEvery feature, in every location
Standard tier0€ a month, 1.5% payment commissionEvery feature, with email support
Enterprise tierFrom 5,000€ a month, negotiated commissionAdds SSO and enforced 2FA, audit logs kept at least 36 months, Premium onboarding, Priority Support and an account manager
Onboarding, one-offSelf-service 0€, Guided 999€, Premium 1,990€Self-service follows the Launch Guides; Premium is included with Enterprise
Support, monthlyPriority Support 99€, Account Management 999€Both included with Enterprise

The lowest monthly total the TWICE pricing page will produce is 99€: one location on the Standard tier, billed monthly, with no yearly discount. The page has a calculator, so put your own location count into it.

Two differences in shape. Booqable takes no commission on bookings. TWICE charges 1.5% on each payment it processes on Standard, on top of Stripe's own fees. Above an allowance per location, it also bills API calls, SMS and storage by use, as listed on its transactional rates page. Booqable's cost grows with users, features and add-ons. TWICE's grows with locations. Booqable includes onboarding sessions from Grow. TWICE includes hands-on setup only with Enterprise, and sells it from 999€ below that.

Booqable is cheaper to start. A single-location operator running Booqable's counter app and website builder pays around $57 a month on yearly billing. The same shape on TWICE starts at 99€ plus the 1.5% commission, so 174€ at 5,000€ of monthly payment volume. Which is cheaper at your volume is arithmetic against your own numbers.

What the tiers gate differs. Both TWICE tiers run every feature, the Admin API included, which on Booqable starts at Grow. What Enterprise adds is what larger operations ask for: SSO with enforced 2FA, long audit-log retention, negotiated rates and a dedicated team.

Booqable's tiers gate closer to the daily work: e-signatures, downtime scheduling, the API, Zapier and Xero at Grow, and overbooking, activity logs and extra locations at Scale. Its mobile point of sale and website builder are add-ons on any plan, and barcode scanning is an add-on from Grow.

The trials differ in where they start. Booqable's 14-day trial starts from its website, with no credit card. TWICE also runs a 14-day free trial with no credit card, and it starts with a demo. After that you are in the product on your own.

Verification

Booqable's pricing page, feature list, Booqable vs. TWICE Commerce page, public roadmap and release notes up to 2026-10-22 were read on 2026-10-26, with its help center articles on the route-planning apps. Its 202 help center articles were read in full on 2026-08-24.

TWICE was scored against its documentation and the product on 2026-09-07 and reviewed line by line by the TWICE team on 2026-09-09. Its pricing and transactional rates pages, and its release notes up to 2026-10-23, were read on 2026-10-26. Review counts were read on 2026-10-26; G2 could not be fetched and is not used. The review-site comparison pages on GetApp, Capterra and Software Advice could not be fetched and were not used.

Frequently asked questions

Is TWICE Commerce rental software?

Yes. TWICE Commerce runs rental as a full business model: availability, bookings, fulfillment, returns, per-unit condition and economics. The two products tie on 68 of the 168 jobs scored for both, most of the rental mechanics among them. TWICE also sells and bills recurring hire from the same records.

Which is cheaper, Booqable or TWICE?

Booqable at entry. Start is $29 a month billed yearly, against a TWICE minimum of 69€ a month billed annually. Booqable charges no commission on bookings, where TWICE's Self-service tier takes 1.5% of payments, as published on its pricing page. Booqable's add-ons narrow the gap.

Does TWICE charge a percentage of revenue?

TWICE charges a payment commission on the payments it processes, on top of the location fee: 1.5% on Self-service, 0.9% on Standard and 0.5% on Enterprise, as published on its pricing page. Booqable charges no commission on bookings.

Can I try TWICE without talking to sales?

TWICE runs a 14-day free trial, and it starts with a demo. After the demo you are in the product and working on your own. Booqable's trial starts from its website.

Does Booqable support subscriptions or resale?

Booqable has no subscription model, and long hires are priced per rental period. Sale items exist as a separate product type. TWICE bills recurring hire on a schedule and moves a retiring unit from the rental fleet into resale with its history attached.

Which is better if renting is my whole business?

For a single-location rental business that wants to be online quickly and work from a phone, Booqable is the better answer. TWICE earns its price when the business gets more particular: several locations, units whose histories diverge, data that does not fit standard fields, automation you define yourself, and stock you eventually sell.
