Why Your Circular Business Needs TWICE Commerce: the Recommerce Operating System

Meet TWICE Commerce 2.0: The Recommerce OS Built for Scale

Are you running a business based on unique items, rentals, or resale? In this clip, we go over the philosophy and capabilities behind TWICE Commerce 2.0.

Whether you are a startup booking your first rentals or an enterprise retailer managing serialized inventory across 50+ locations, the need for a robust infrastructure is the same. TWICE Commerce 2.0 is designed as a flexible Commerce OS that adapts to your workflow, not the other way around.

Why TWICE Commerce 2.0?

Traditional vertical software often forces merchants into rigid workflows that stifle innovation. TWICE breaks this mold by offering an API-first, composable approach. You can utilize the full stack—including our white-label online store and order management—or simply leverage our powerful inventory engine as a headless solution.

Key takeaways from this discussion:

  • Flexibility First: How to productize and manage unique inventory without hitting a wall.
  • Scalability: Why big-box retailers with 100+ employees trust TWICE to handle complex daily operations.
  • The OS Approach: How our API-first architecture allows for custom endpoints and integrations tailored to your specific needs.
  • Future-Proofing: Why starting with a scalable OS is better than migrating away from limited software later.

TWICE Commerce is empowering merchants to start, grow, and scale their circular businesses with confidence. If you are ready to start building on a platform that grows with you, it's time to experience the new standard in Recommerce.

Karri: Do you have any closing words about TWICE Commerce 2.0? So maybe something that if somebody is listening, maybe in like couple sentences, like what is it and why they should come and do a free trial if they are interested in what it can do?

Tuomo: I loved when you said "if someone's listening." Is that the confidence rate of our podcast?

Karri: Maybe referring to if somebody is listening who is interested in this?

Tuomo: Alright, yeah, sure. Yeah, so as you're listening to us, as a person who's trying to figure out how to go about this or it's the note, I think the reason to join the waitlist or get early access to the new platform—or then if we're already out at that time when you're listening to this podcast—the reason you probably want to join is that at the end of the day, your business is about making business with unique items.

So you're booking them, you're buying stuff from other users, improving them and selling them out. And you want a very flexible commerce OS. You want to be flexible in productization. You want to be flexible in inventory management and you want to be kind of hacking away and trying to find the optional solution. And when you find it and you want to start automating it, you want to have a robust, powerful system that can power the largest retailers in the world. For example, view that we have and if you want that confidence that as an OS, this will not cap out.

And I think then you want to try Twice. And I'm sure there will be many use cases where we lack some endpoint or whatever and we cannot yet do it. But if you just let us know in this new platform, it's relatively easy for us to add those endpoints or capabilities and serve you better as an OS. And then the core promise that I'm making is that we're building that OS for you. So we're not forcing you to build your business a certain way. And we are always starting a discussion with "how can we help you today?" What do you want to do today? And trying to help you do it rather than telling that here's the way how you should run your business next year.

Karri: Sounds really good. And I think even for new entrepreneurs or someone starting out, it's maybe a good tip that even if you don't need all of this capability and flexibility now, at some point you probably are going to run into a wall with some limited vertical software. And that's the moment when you—like we have a lot of customers coming from other software, more vertical type limited software coming to us. So if you start with us, there is a lot of capabilities, but you are able to get up and running quite easily. But when you grow and when you want to start automating and so on, that's when you probably get the most out of Twice and feel good that you are able to grow with Twice. I think our largest customers have like over 50 stores now running on top of Twice.

Tuomo: Yeah, I think it should be. I think that more than 50 and they're not small stores. They're like big box stores with 10 or 100 plus employees actively working there and using the software daily. So you can get to quite complex setups with thousands of people using Twice as part of their e-commerce operation on a daily basis.
