inventory/stock-items
Save a view of the Stock items table that lists the units due for service, filtered on a number your staff keep on each unit, such as uses since the last service. A unit leaves the view once its count is reset. Attributes explains which attribute formats can filter the table.

Prerequisites

Required permissions:
  • View stock items (inventory:stock_item in view) to open Stock items. Every built-in role holds it, and saving a view of your own needs nothing more. See Users & Roles.
Have ready before you start:
  • A Number attribute that counts use since the last service, such as Uses since service, with a value on each unit. TWICE Commerce does not count use, so staff update it, for example at each return check. See Add a stock item attribute.
  • The count at which a unit is due, such as 20 uses.
  • A name for the view, such as Due for service.

The walkthrough

1

Open Stock items on the All tab

Select Inventory in the left sidebar, then Stock items, and click the All tab above the table. If filters show under the search box, click Reset at the right end of their row. With more than one location, check the location selector in the top-left corner first: the table lists only that location’s stock items.
2

Filter on the use count

Click the funnel button in the toolbar above the table, whose tooltip reads Filter. A list of columns opens. Type the start of your attribute’s name in Search by column name at the top of the list, and choose the attribute. Its filter appears under the search box with its panel open.
3

Choose Greater than or equal to

Open the operator list at the top of the panel, which reads Equals, and choose “Greater than or equal to”. The panel keeps the value field under the operator.
4

Enter the count at which a unit is due

Type the count in the value field under the operator, such as 20, and click outside the panel to close it. The filter under the search box reads the attribute’s name and your number, and the table lists only the units at or past it.
5

Save the table as a view

Click the plus button at the end of the tab row. A new tab opens with a placeholder name, such as View 3, and the number of stock items it holds beside the name. It keeps your filter.
6

Open Rename

Click the arrow next to the new tab’s name. A menu of view actions opens. Choose Rename, and the Rename view dialog opens.
7

Name the view

Enter a name in View name, such as Due for service, and click Save. The dialog closes and the tab shows the new name.

How do I know it worked?

  • The new tab carries your name, such as Due for service, with a count of its stock items beside it.
  • The tab lists the units at or past your count, and no others.
  • A unit drops out of the tab once its count is set back below the number, which you do when you record a service.

Troubleshooting / common pitfalls

The filter is on a formula attribute. The table offers number operators on a formula column, then leaves the filter out when it asks for rows. Filter the number the formula reads instead. See Attributes.
On the Stock items table a date attribute filters as text, so it cannot hold a cutoff such as before a given day. Keep a count instead, or sort on the date column. See Attributes.
A view you save is yours alone until you choose Share with team in its menu, which needs the Manager role or higher. Each colleague then ticks it on their own row. See Tables.
