Step 8 of the launch path. Prove the configuration by putting a real order all the way through and then undoing it. Do this yourself, on your own storefront, with your own card. Reading the settings back does not count. The failures worth finding are the ones only a full round trip exposes, like a confirmation email that never arrives because it went to spam.

Run the round trip

Follow Run your pre-launch test order for the full script. Order something with several items and at least one add-on, because a single-line order tests very little. Then follow it the whole way: it appears in the admin, the confirmation lands in a real inbox, the receipt renders with your details, the payment goes through, you hand the item out and take it back, and a damaged return produces the charge you expect. Then refund it and clean up, so your numbers start from zero. Done when: one order has been placed on the storefront, confirmed by email, paid, handed out, returned, refunded and cleaned up, with every document along the way correct.

Order both ways

Test both paths. Your staff take orders in the admin and your customers place them on the storefront, and the two reach the same system differently. Follow Run your pre-launch test order for the counter path, including what it does not send that the storefront does. Use Set up the online store to confirm the storefront is live before you order through it. Done when: an order created at the counter and an order placed on the storefront both arrive correctly.
