# Move your subscription

> How billing switches from 1.0 to 2.0, and what to check on your first invoice.

Step 4 of [migrating from TWICE 1.0](/docs/guides/migration/overview). This step is short, and its only real risk is being billed twice.

## How the switch works

You activate your 2.0 subscription from a payment link sent to you by email. Adding your payment details starts your trial. **Your 1.0 subscription is canceled at the same moment**, and your first 2.0 invoice comes at the end of the trial. You are not billed for both.

| # | Do this                            | Detail                                                                                                                                   |
| - | ---------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| 1 | Agree your plan and location count | Your bill is a platform tier plus per-location pricing. Count the locations you will actually sell from. |
| 2 | Activate from the payment link | Sent by email. Adding your payment details starts the trial. There is no self-service activation in the admin at the moment. |
| 3 | Your 1.0 subscription is canceled | Automatically, when the 2.0 trial starts. You do not need to request it. |
| 4 | Check the first invoice | It arrives at the end of the trial. Check it against the tier and location count you agreed, and raise any overlap you did not agree to. |

<Note>
  Tiers differ in what they include — custom user roles, advanced reporting, audit logs, paying by invoice, enforced two-factor and SSO, audit history length, and support level. Confirm current pricing and what your agreement includes with your TWICE contact before you sign; this page deliberately does not restate prices, because they change and your agreement is the authority.
</Note>

If you are billed for both systems, that is a mistake and you are eligible for a refund. Raise it rather than absorbing it.

## Done when

* Your tier and location count are agreed and written down.
* Payment details are added and the trial has started.
* Your 1.0 subscription shows as canceled.
* You know when the trial ends and when the first invoice is due.
* Your first invoice has been checked against what you agreed.
